Salvia divinorum tinctures are a convenient way to take salvia. But what is a Salvia tincture, and where can you find it for sale?
What is a Salvia Divinorum tincture?
Wiktionary.com defines a “tincture” as, “An alcoholic extract of plant material, used as a medicine” (which is appropriate, since the Mazatec Indians traditionally considered Salvia a medicinal herb).
Typically, tinctures come with a dropper that can be used to place a drop of the extract under one’s tongue. With Salvia divinorum, you should drop about 10 millimeters of the tincture under the tongue and hold it there for as long as possible. You should start to see effects within 10-15 minutes. The effects last for about an hour.
Who sells Salvia Divinorum tinctures?
Salvia divinorum tinctures are available from a variety of sources. Here are two of the best places I’ve found to purchase Salvia divinorum in tincture form:
I like to say that Sage Wisdom is the gold standard when it comes to Salvia Divinorum products. This shop has just about everything Salvia-related you could think of, including Salvia Divinorum tincture. The shop offers various sizes at several different price points.
SalviaHut offers a variety of different Salvia products, including Salvia tincture.
If you’re interested in learning more about Salvia divinorum, I recommend checking out my book, Summer of Salvia (link to Amazon). My book explores the history of Salvia, as well as the implications of the all-too-similar experiences people have under the influence of this incredible drug.
The Midwest Book Review called my book “enlightening, powerful, and compelling,” noting that it is a “must read for anyone seeking … a probe of how chemicals can alter perceptions of reality itself.” So, really, I’m not just tooting my own horn! Give the book a read and learn more about the most powerful natural hallucinogen known to man.
